As another year of Trainz draws to a close, it's time to announce our enormous line-up of updates and features coming to Trainz Plus Members in 2023.
First up, we’ve simplified our membership options making it easier than ever to enjoy everything Trainz has to offer.
We now offer a choice of two plans - Trainz Plus Standard and Trainz Plus Gold.
Trainz Plus is now rebranded as Trainz Plus Standard. You still get all the latest features, plus an FCT (worth $5.99 a month from the Trainz Store) and loads of new content and rewards. All this and it still costs just 19 cents a day (if paid annually).
Gold Class becomes Trainz Plus Gold. For 36 cents a day (for annual membership) you get everything included in Trainz Plus Standard, as well as access to ALL the Trainz DLC items AND even more content and benefits.
Note that existing FCT and Silver Class members can remain on their current membership for as long as they like or can choose to change to one of the new options upon next renewal.
Trainz Plus Gold membership now provides all DLC items unlocked in the in-game Content Store > Purchased tab.
There’s no longer a requirement to unlock items in MyTrainz and you can simply choose to install as many of the DLC items as you like.
Preview Pass items are also automatically available and they’ll be issued to your account the moment they go live on the Trainz Store.
In 2009 we introduced the 5m grid which meant there was 4 times the data density over the old 10m grid.
Today, we're very happy to announce our brand new "High Detail" terrain, where we've increased the resolution by 1600x!
That's an incredible 0.12m grid size* which will literally transform the detail possible for route creation.
HD Terrain will be part of the upcoming Trainz Plus update and we can't wait to see what you're capable of creating.

The upcoming Trainz Plus update also includes a major overhaul of the user interface to give you access to more information and make your railroad operations smoother.
Here's a quick overview of the UI as it stands right now. It isn't complete and is likely to change before this goes to the public.
The Industry UI has also been totally revamped, making updates to inputs and outputs as simple as dragging the sliders.
Note that you will also be able to edit the industries in Driver mode.

A. Yes. A monthly FCT from the store is $5.99, while Trainz Plus Standard, which includes an FCT, is just $7.99. So for $2 a month extra, you enjoy all the Trainz Plus features and content.

Q. What happens if I am a Silver Member?
A. Your existing membership plan will renew just as it did previously. You will automatically have access to all existing and upcoming DLC items in-game.

Q. Can I cancel my membership any time?
A. Yes. You can pay for a month, cancel for a month, then rejoin any time you like.
Q. How do I uninstall DLC items?
A. Any DLC item that is installed will show an Uninstall option in Content Store. Simply click on the button to uninstall any DLC items.
Q. When can I try out the new Trainz Plus features?
A. We currently aim to have a limited external beta test Dec 2022, then a broader external beta test early in 2023.

Q. Will TRS22 users be able to see the HD terrain?
A. Yes, TRS22 will be compatible with the new format. However, the tools are S20-based and therefore TRS22 users will not be able to edit HDT.
